Video mapping is a fast growing form of media art. Architectural video mapping transforms urban environment beyond recognition. The whole building or construction can be turned into a display surface for video mapping. It can attract attention to architectural peculiarities of particular constructions or, on the contrary, hide their flaws as well as complement traditional architectural lightning design. This tool also allows organizing unusual marketing events such as supermarket opening ceremonies or commissioning of large social projects.
EXTERIOR VIDEO MAPPING
3D advertisement projected on facades of building is a very effective way to catch people’s eye in evening and night time.
INTERIOR VIDEO MAPPING
Optical illusions can breathe a new life into interior. You can project everything you want: landscapes, underwater world, universe, abstract lights, distortion of space and other effects. Interior video projection is often used in clubs, showrooms and exhibition halls. Projection beams might bу directed on single or several walls, ceiling or floor.
OBJECTS VIDEO MAPPING
Object video mapping makes interactive different things from table lamps and wiring into the room to loudspeakers or even cars. Mapping there gives opportunity to “facet” object, emphasize outlines and make it more expressive. This is the most delicate type of mapping.
The work process
For convenience and efficiency we divide our projects into stages that are first discussed and negotiated with our clients.
1. Gathering information about the project
To successfully execute the project we need detailed information about it. It can be photographs of the object that will be used as a display surface, references to something you like, ideas or options of what you want to see.
2. Equipment selection
We decide on the equipment required for the show. It includes projectors, computers and calculation of the area to be covered with projection.
3. Script and concept development
We develop the concept and start writing the script of the show.
4. Creation of 3D models
Alongside the third stage 3D objects are prepared and created, as are assets for all the scenes.
In the course of project implementation the team may perform photo surveys of required materials or search for references. After that we create models and textures.
We complete the 3D object work, create the animation and renderings. At the end of this stage the customer sees a visually elaborate product, though not finished yet.
This is a closing stage when we finalize the show scenes, put the finishing touches to the design and finish working on small details.
After post-production, the client gets the final product. The most important part of the process is that the customer is in full control of project implementation. As a result, you get exactly what you expected.
